Updates on Mario
what can I say?
Mario’s loan spell at Mainz doesn’t look too good for him right now. I am so disappointed.
He hasn’t been playing since he was subbed on during Matchday 5 in early September (Mainz vs Hoffenheim), I don’t really follow Mainz but I look at the line-ups & Reservebenches when they play, and as far as I remember, he hasn’t been playing since.
I am not even sure if it’s because he’s injured, or if Thomas Tuchel think he’s not ready/good enough. Mainz itself has plenty of strikers, and Mario might be facing stiff competition.
It’s a real shame because the main purpose of Schalke’s loan to Mainz was so he could get more match practice, as Schalke has quite a few strikers as well. Perhaps Mainz wasn’t the right club for him.
